When five tribes go to war, go to war, go to war...

The latest Tabletop episode is Five Tribes: The Djinns of Naqala, featuring Wil, Jenna Busch, Satine Phoenix, and Richard Garriot. It was one of the most anticipated and hyped games of 2014. Want to see what all the fuss is about? Watch the video HERE to find out! For more info, keep reading!

Five Tribes is a 2-4 player game from Days of Wonder of the worker placement genre bit with a few twists. The board is littered with meeple which represent the five tribes: Assassins, Builders, Elders, Merchants, and Viziers. Players bid for their turn order and then proceed to pick up the meeples on one square, and then drop one on every square en route to their chosen end tile, with the last one matching the colour of one already on inhabiting it.

The meeples of that colour are then picked up/removed and allow you to perform an action according to which tribe it is, like acquire a Djinn or kill off other meeple! The game features many ways to gain points (claiming tiles, collecting resources, building stuff etc.) which could create some interesting strategies and keeps it varied and interesting.

After watching the video it looks like a very tactical game which requires plenty of thinking ahead (which I like) and potential bluffing/screwing people over too (which I also like!). With what seems like a good balance of strategy and fun, it is definitely a game I want to add to my collection and review in the near future!
